Lake Mountain Ski Hire opened a room at a small Guest House on the Woods Point Road in Marysville in 1980 (30 years ago!) before moving 2 years later to the main street. In the early days Lake Mountain was a little known area frequented by a few die-hard cross country skiers and those who were encouraged to give skiing a go whilst staying in Marysville. As the mountain developed and more and more people discovered its existence, it undertook a program of infrastructure development which has continued to the point where there is now even a fully fledged resort that caters for over 150,000 visitors each year. Derek & Chris Reynolds purchased the shop in 1986 and have run it ever since. Hmm I wonder how old that makes them?
