February 7th
2009 will be remembered by all Australians as the day Fire destroyed
life, property, infrastructure and natural resource in the worst
natural disaster in our history. Lake
Mountain and Lake Mountain Ski Hire, Marysville were not spared from
the destruction.
Fortunately Lake Mountain
Resort’s main building containing the administration, shelter and
Bistro were spared and the buildings and infrastructure destroyed by
fire have been replaced for the 2009 season with temporary facilities
as they plan for their replacement. The trail
system, toboggan runs and walking tracks have been repaired and
re-signed and Lake Mountain is 100% ready for business.
Lake Mountain Ski Hire,
Marysville was completely destroyed by fire and our much loved manager
Kirstie and her husband Isak perished
attempting to save their home, leaving 3 children behind. Kirstie
and Isak will be greatly missed.
The good news is that a
temporary building has been erected at 25 Murchison Street in
Marysville to accommodate all new equipment. We
will be operating opposite a temporary marquee which will provide food
and shelter for visitors during winter. We will
still provide the same quality well priced equipment with friendly and
efficient staff to ensure your day in the snow is enjoyable for all the
family.
We are really looking
forward to seeing you this winter as we re establish in 2009.
